Sketchy Days

It’s important to practice your craft whenever you can. For me time is my biggest commodity but I like to to put pencil to paper as often as possible. It’s always amazing how I never want to stop drawing once I pick up a pencil. It’s almost as if just the pencil alone can be my inspiration. No matter where I go I try to sneak in a quick sketch or two (usually two+). Whether it’s writing, building or sketching, make time for whatever brings you joy!

I completed this drawing over three days during the Deep Ellum Arts Festival in Dallas. I began the work not knowing how it would end. I wanted it to have a fashionable sixteen chapel feel.

This is the result of the sketch from the above picture. It is entitled, "2 Panel Mosaic" due to the tile like painting in the background. To simulate the two pages of the sketch book, I completed the work on two canvases.
