I love a good cookbook. Cookbooks give you the opportunity to experience cuisines from all around the world (and from your own backyard). Being from New Orleans I fully understand the power of food and how it can bring people together. My wonderful best friend is from Indonesia, specifically Jakarta. When I visited Bali with her I had a chance to experience authentic cuisine that her mom prepared for us everyday! When my friend decided to create her own cookbook of her family’s recipes I was so excited! Below is a wonderful recipe I recreated from her amazing cookbook entitled, “Bumbu”!
